So.. snapped a timing belt on the Cagiva last week... Dug into that cylinder to get the head today to see just how bad the damage was.. I was certain that both valves would be bent, potentially wrecking the valve guides too. And of course, a big fat dent in the piston was kind of expected too... (assuming there wasn’t just a big-ass hole punched in it instead...)
But once I got the head off and examined the valves...
Holy Guacamole!! *Somehow* my valves aren’t trashed !!
On the piston and exhaust valve, I can see where they “kissed”.. but all it did was knock a bit of carbon off... no damage to either... Not sure how I got so lucky... Should of bought a lottery ticket that day.....

Spray some carb cleaner around the valves + blow air in the ports. Look to see if theres any bubbles.

I pooled paint thinner in it.... held it pretty long.
